About Us

Weekend Homesteaders is about building a simpler, more self-sufficient life one step at a time — without pretending you have to do everything perfectly.

Based in Lakeville, Massachusetts, we share the real side of homesteading: raising chickens, growing food, learning practical skills, reducing waste, becoming more sustainable, and figuring things out as we go.

A big part of Weekend Homesteaders is Tammi’s Pocket Flock Brigade — our small-but-mighty crew of chickens with oversized personalities. We also raise and breed Kikirikis, d’Uccles, and other select breeds, with chicks, hatching eggs, pullets, and cockerels available as the flock allows.

Around here, it’s equal parts education, experience, trial and error, and a little bit of chicken chaos.

Our goal is simple: share what works, keep learning, and help others feel like homesteading is something they can actually do too.
